Different ways to solve equations

We have 4 ways of solving one-step equations: Adding, Substracting, multiplication and division.

If we add the same number to both sides of an equation, both sides will remain equal.

Example:

\begin{array}{lcl} x=y\\ x+z=y+z \end{array}

If we subtract the same number from both sides of an equation, both sides will remain equal.

Example:

\begin{array}{lcl} x=y\\ x-z=y-z \end{array}

If we divide both sides of an equation by the same number, both sides will remain equal.

Example:

\begin{array}{lcl} x=y\\ x\div z=y\div z \end{array}

If we multiply both sides of an equation  by the same number, both sides will remain equal.

\begin{array}{lcl} x=y\\ x\cdot z=y\cdot z \end{array}
